I'm 35 and I want to apply for MFA programs, so it's good to know I'm not the only one who is starting later than others

"Best Star Trek Movie was 'Search for Spok' "--I do not disagree, but that's a bold statement. And I respect boldness. (I love Star Trek; no such thing as a bad star trek movie)

Thank you!

Hi Mark. Great event, buddy. Aimee, wonderful reading. Todd, I love your poems, esp. the sci-fi ones. As well as those two fantasy/mythic poems about your grandparents. Thanks!
Aimee Bender
Thank you!

This is all so interesting to hear, because writing can be such an anti-social act, and we need to be people, living our lives. I don't know if writing has been easier or harder in the pandemic, but parenting and living has been more complicated this last year (to put it nicely). And I have a really hard time getting things done in short time blocks--I'm trying to challenge myself to do better with that.

I read a book that talked a lot about the poet Allen Ginsberg. Someone once asked him "How do you become a prophet?" He said, "Tell your secrets." That makes me think of what you were just saying with the silence of shame and the internment camps.

Thank you all!

I love these questions even though we couldn’t get to them all.
W. Todd Kaneko
Thank you everyone for being here with us!
